besides the warehouse location, i’m looking for a school location. the main character is an architecture student at an art school. i need him working in his studio at his drafting table, making some photocopies, then walking down a hallway and spotting a poster on a bulletin board.
i took some location pix at the academy of entertainment technology, the campus of smc where they teach animation and design. i used to take classes there so i’m hoping they’ll let me shoot there for free. the hallways look ok but there are no bulletin boards up on the walls so it would take more time and effort to dress the set to get it to look right. the classrooms were kind of small and looked too much like classrooms, and not like studios. they didn’t have drafting tables either.
my location scout is going to go to otis, the main smc campus, and also this private high school in the san fernando valley. i’m hoping one of those locations will be a better fit.
