i’ve been thinking of series more these days, and i found this excellend blog on screenwriting with an emphasis on tv writing, jane in progress. one thing she recommends is writing an original pilot or feature, not just a spec off an existing show. i would have assumed that if you’re trying to get work as a tv writer, it would be better to write specs but she thinks not. lots of useful advice on her blog. check it out.
