writing a screenplay in one month

november is national novel writing month (NaNoWriMo). people register on the website and try to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. last year, i wrote a rough draft of a script instead of a novel in that same time. i didn’t register it through their site, but just used that 1 month time limit as motivation to get me going.

this year i plan on doing the same thing. i have a time travel story that i already outlined and i’m ready to start writing. to write a script around 90 pages in 30 days, i have to average 3 pages a day. that sounds very manageable, right? i’m not looking for high caliber writing. i just want to get to the end and have a finished first draft, and then i can break it apart, analyze it, and then start rewriting.

i’ll start writing tomorrow on nov 1.
